CQT Services is a specialist concrete, quarry and construction materials consultancy providing practical technical advice to contractors, asset owners, designers, suppliers, government agencies and legal teams across Australia.

Founded in 2007 after being asked by a client to assist with a complex materials issue, CQT has grown from that first engagement into a trusted technical adviser for long-term clients across infrastructure, building, water, marine, quarry, transport and legal sectors.

Our work is focused on one clear objective: providing quality, timely and relevant advice that adds real value to every project we support.

Meet The Team

CQT Services is led by Michael van Koeverden, a highly experienced concrete, quarry and construction materials specialist with more than 35 years’ experience across the construction materials industry.

Michael is supported by a trusted network of engineering consultants, technical specialists and industry associates, allowing CQT to provide practical, customised and comprehensive solutions across a wide range of project types.

Together, the team brings deep technical knowledge, real construction experience and a practical understanding of project risk, helping clients resolve complex materials, durability, constructability and performance challenges before, during and after construction.

Michael van Koeverden

Founder & Director

Michael is a Chartered Civil Engineer and Engineers Australia Fellow with more than 35 years’ experience in concrete, aggregate and quarry materials technology. Since founding CQT Services in 2007, Michael has provided specialist technical advice across major infrastructure, bridge, pavement, tunnel, building, quarry and expert witness matters throughout Australia.

A Life Member and Past National President of the Concrete Institute of Australia, Michael brings deep technical knowledge, practical construction insight and industry leadership to complex material, durability and project risk challenges.

Heath Murray

BEng(Hons)(Civil), BEng(Hons)(Surv), MIEAust

Engineering Consultant

Heath is an Engineering Consultant with dual honours degrees in Civil Engineering and Surveying, and specialist experience in concrete mix design, construction support and remedial engineering of concrete structures.

Since joining CQT Services in 2019, Heath has worked across transport, marine, water and mining projects, applying strong technical capability in concrete and quarry materials technology. His experience includes durability design, service life modelling, complex thermal analysis and engineering support for major expert witness matters.

Thomas van Koeverden

BEng(Hons)(Civil), MIEAust

Engineering Consultant

Thomas is a Civil Engineer and Member of Engineers Australia with more than five years’ experience delivering practical civil engineering solutions across infrastructure, health, education, industrial, residential and commercial projects.

Since joining CQT Services, Thomas has applied his background in civil design, stormwater management, water quality and quantity modelling, access design and concrete pavement design to support clients with practical, buildable and outcome-focused technical advice. He also plays an active role in the engineering and business community through his leadership positions with the Young Engineers Shadow Board and Hunter Young Professionals.

Sally Randall

Office Administrator

Sally is the Office Administrator at CQT Services and plays a central role in keeping the business running smoothly. She supports the team and clients through day-to-day office coordination, phone enquiries, invoicing, administration and internal business support.

With a practical, organised and approachable manner, Sally helps ensure enquiries are directed to the right person, project administration stays on track and clients receive timely support from first contact through to completion.
